Review: Launch Out Into The Deep by Acacia Slaton Beumer ( book)

 Book description:
 Here is a compelling book which features powerful poems and prose and it sprinkles several scriptures into the mix. This book speaks to people who have gone through serious trials, lay-offs from work, discouraging reversals, frustrations and those who struggle with temptations of various kinds. It obviously will touch a lot of readers who pick up this book. On the other side of the coin, the book speaks of how success can turn a person from God. A poem titled "Is Success A Curse In Your Life?" speaks to this issue. Another poem, "One Million Records Sold" speaks of alcohol and drugs and partying and how that some may claim they know Jesus but their fruit does not testify of this. There is no question about it, a person who reads this book will be exposed to scripture, from both the Old and New Testaments. There are discussion questions too on the text, titled "Are You Ready?" and another set titled "God Has A Plan" and "Let's Talk About Sex". Different forms of temptation are mentioned including sex and one poem, titled "Temptations", deals with this issue. A poem titled "Summer Madness" speaks of women wearing tight and also little clothing and the temptations young men face. The scriptural stories include the wonderful story of Ruth and Boaz as well as the story of Job and his tests and trials. This fantastic book should be utilized by Sunday School classes for teens and adults and is a terrific personal read. We are pleased to award it our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages twelve plus. It does deal with sexual temptations and is not intended for young children but it is a powerful read for those twelve and above. This ended up being a better book than i thought. I love to read a good book about a real life, by someone who has shared there experiences. I love the poetry that is throughout the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good book to read.

Review: What Daddy Did Today by Walter Wally.

 Christina's voice: 
To me a father and his kid(s) is the most precious thing on earth. I love to see my boyfriend with our kids, knowing he loves them the way he does just puts a smile on my face. This book is similar to that, this story is great for a busy working daddy who stays gone most of the day, great way to settle and cuddle with there little one while reading this book. This is daddy's chance to tell his child about all of the amazing things he hoes while he is away working, but all at the end of that big day the daddy has only one thing on his mind and that is to get back home to his child. I recommend this book " What daddy did today." by Walter Wally to any parent who is looking to read there little one a story before bed.

Books are banned for a number of different reasons; in some cases, people may feel that a book will cause children to misbehave. In other cases, religious beliefs may seem to conflict with a book’s message. Regardless of the reason, banning a book often increases demand for it. It is important for kids to grapple with challenging ideas and understand that both good and bad content must be placed in context. Here are eight banned books you should buy for your kids.
1. To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
While the content might be a bit intense for young readers, To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic American novel that deals with inequality and outright racism during the Jim Crow era. Its historical settings are important as children should learn about the dark aspects of United States history. It also deals with issues of judicial fairness and handling adversity in a manner that will help kids develop a mature outlook about the world.
2. Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley
Dystopian novels are a hallmark of 20th century literature, and many books of this genre have ended up being banned. While there are many great books to consider in this category, none challenge minds quite as much as Brave New World. While some of the events in the book are abhorrent, readers must grapple with ethics in a manner than most literature cannot touch.
3. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
While it has not yet been lauded as an American classic, the Hunger Games trilogy deals with issues of how entertainment has the potential to cause great harm. 4. The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger

Although it has a penchant for causing a bit of a rebellious streak, generations of readers have lauded the novel as one of the books that encouraged them to think independently.
5. Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain
Huckleberry Finn is the oldest book on the list, but its message still resonates today. Dealing with a young runaway and an escaped slave, the novel form a great way to show kids the complexity of humans and issues about how language and attitudes have evolved over the years.
6. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, by Ken Kesey
By combining mental illness with acts of rebellion, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest compares freedom with the reality of the mind. As an example about how even lauded institutions can serve both good and ill effects, it is an important novel that address the reality of grappling with difficult subjects that science cannot address perfectly.
7. The Harry Potter series, by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter is one of the most successful books of the last generation, and its legacy will likely endure for decades. The Harry Potter series contains little objectionable material and is a great way to show kids how insensitivity can lead people to ban material simply because it is not compatible with certain religious or philosophical doctrines.
8. James and the Giant Peach, by Roald Dahl
Another childhood classic, James and the Giant Peach has been banned because it portrayed a protagonist who fled from abusive family members. Mixing fantasy with the realities of life, the novel shows how working with others who are different can lead to great outcomes.

I got this book just in time, because my little 3 year old was going to the dentist that following Monday. This book about a little boy who has a huge imagination and decides to fight the cavity monster, i will let you read more so that way you know if he really won or not. I will have to say the graphics in this book had me even looking, they are amazing illustrated and bright colors has my little girl eyes hooked. This book taught my little girl what ginger vitis and sir plaque ( hehe) really are. over all this is a great book for kids.

          I was really excited to review The Forgiven Duke because i had done read the first The Guardian Duke both by Jame Carie. The Forgiven Duke to me was also another great book, I love a mystery type book that makes me where I don't want to put the book down, and i can't wait to get to the next chapter. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone, but it is a really good book. I have some information below on what this book is all about as well.

About the Book:

Review: Bittersweet Surrender by Diann Hunt -book

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't like the fact that i had to download it and sit at my pc to read it but next time i will make sure i pay more attention on if its downloadable or hardback. Anyways I really liked this book. It's about a woman name Carly who is trying to get her life back together after dealing with a long jouney of breast cancer and then a divorce. She ends up falling in love with chocolate which is easy to do when she owns a chocolate spa. Then a guy named Jake Mitchell decided to move back to the hometown, who she been talking to over emails this was her lover a guy she dreamed about marrying forever. but then she starts stressing over her diet and so on. Very good book i dont want to go to much into details but i would have to say you will want to know what god has planned for at the end of this book.

My three year old can't read but she loved me to read to her so i read her both books because they are not that long, she thought it was funny because she knows cows don't quack. This book has other things that animals don't do as well.
